Volunteer Service (Community Service) is a U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development requirement. The Quality Housing and Work Responsibility Act of 1998 mandates PHAs require non-exempt adults of public housing comply with community service requirements. In order to be eligible for continued occupancy, each adult family member must contribute eight hours of community service per month or participate in an economic self-sufficiency program, or a combination of the two for eight hours per month.

Eligible activities for completion of your Community Service Requirement will include eight hours per month contributed to any of the following activities or organizations:
